ManUtd take on fresh £90m loan as total debt passes £1.1bn
Manchester United have taken on another £90m in borrowing since the end of June, taking the club’s total debt beyond £1.1bn as things stands.
According to Sky Sports, the new borrowing was revealed in a detailed filing to the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, a day after the club published its 2025-26 financial accounts covering the year to 30 June.
United also confirmed that they spent £191.7m on new players during the summer transfer window.
Among their major additions were Andrey Santos from Chelsea, Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Carlos Baleba from Brighton.
The fees initially reported for the three transfers totalled around £153m, leaving questions over how the remaining amount in United’s overall summer spending was accounted for.
The club is yet to make an official statement on the development despite being approached by Sky Sports for more details.
