Foremost Nollywood actor Oyewole Olowomojuore, aka Baba Gebu, has passed on.
Baba Gebu reportedly died on Wednesday evening after a brief illness.
Announcing his passing, popular movie director and actor Kunle Afod, in an Instagram post, described the deceased as a “great legend.”
“It saddens my heart as I announce the passing of our great legend, a great actor who passed away after a brief illness. BABA GEBU, may your soul rest in peace,” Afod wrote.
Reacting to the sad news, actor Yemi Solade wrote, “May GOD forgive his shortcomings, accept and rest his soul in eternal bliss. Amen.”
Actor Akin Olaiya wrote, “Rest in peace, Baba.”
Actress Saje wrote, “May his soul rest in peace.”
Actor Abiodun Thomas wrote, “Rest on, Pa Olowomojuore, may God continue to bless all that you left behind.”
Sharing a heartbreaking emoji, actress Shoa Kosoko wrote, “Rest in peace, Legend.”

Pastor Mrs. Nkechi Chinyere Ene, the presiding pastor of the Carpenter’s Church, passed away. The church described her demise as “a great loss to the church and the body of Christ.”
Pastor Nkechi Chinyere Ene died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, just after returning from a lengthy outreach tour that was full of “miracles and testimonies,” according to a statement written by Pastor Sola Akinwale on behalf of the church leadership.
The statement claims that shortly after returning to Nigeria, she experienced an unexpected medical crisis in Lagos.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our presiding pastor, our mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene,” the statement read.
“As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds, we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is good and His mercies endure forever.”
Widely regarded as a passionate preacher and teacher of the Word, Pastor Ene was known for her unwavering faith, compassion, and devotion to service.
“She lived and believed the Word of God till the very end,” the church said. “She has now heard the words from her Master, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’”
The Carpenter’s Church called on members and well-wishers to pray for strength and comfort for her family, her husband, Brother Emeka Ene, and their daughters, Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi.
