Omijie Ojumi’s daughter has said a moving homage to her mother. She described her as a moral lady who stayed devoted to her family in spite of the challenges she encountered in her marriage.
Jomiloju, the singer’s daughter, spoke during the ceremony of songs held in her honour on Wednesday. She talked about her mother’s constant presence throughout their lives, pointing out that she always supported her kids even when their father wasn’t there.
She clarified that Ojumi was motivated by a strong desire to raise responsible, well-behaved children who would not make the same mistakes in marriage that she felt she had made.
“She was always there for us, even when our father wasn’t,” she said during her tribute.
“Her focus was to make sure we turned out responsible and did better than she did in her marital journey.”
Jomiloju added that her mother placed great importance on education, making sacrifices to enrol her children in the best schools she could afford as a way of securing their future.

In an emotional moment, Omijie Ojumi’s daughter also made a public vow to honour her mother’s wishes by looking after her younger brother and guiding him in the right path.

A close source acquainted with the singer’s family confirmed the news of her passing on Tuesday night.
The family has not yet issued an official statement, but further information is anticipated in the days ahead.
Following months of public pleas for prayers and divine intervention while battling a severe leg ailment, Akinnanu passed away.
A video of the singer at G.F. David Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo State, in late 2025 became viral online. It showed her sitting with her leg outstretched while people prayed for her healing.
The footage drew widespread attention and concern over the severity of her condition.
During the service, the presiding cleric revealed that Akinnanu had been experiencing persistent bleeding in her leg, prompting an intense prayer session.
The video quickly went viral, with fans and well-wishers across Nigeria organising prayer vigils and flooding social media with messages of support.
