Toke Makinwa has shared her two cents with new mothers about the unusual method of bathing a newborn.
Makinde said in a video message that she doesn’t bathe her infant every day, citing worries that frequent bathing could harm the baby’s delicate skin.
She maintained that babies don’t need to be cleaned every day because they are not naturally dirty after spending nine months in the womb.
“I know I’m a new mom, and I’m literally just learning as I go, but I really think excessive showering causes skin problems in babies. Babies are not dirty. They’ve been inside the womb for nine months, and inside your womb is not dirty,” she said.

As a first-time mom, she said she is embracing a learning curve, admitting she previously judged her sister for a similar approach with her niece.
However, after observing the positive impact on her niece’s skin health, she decided to adopt a less frequent bathing schedule for her own baby, Yaya.
According to her, she plans to gradually introduce daily baths when Yaya is between four to old.

She wrote
“My daughter brought me healing, she is daily healing parts of me I didn’t even know needed healing, healing from my childhood trauma, from grief I thought I had dealt with a long time ago. Maybe God knew I needed this.”
Toke Makinwa, an actress and author of “On Becoming,” has frequently referred to the loss of her parents in a gas explosion when she was eight years old as one of the most agonising experiences of her life.
After three years of marriage, she and fitness coach Maje Ayida also went through a public divorce in 2017.
However, the on-air personality claimed that becoming a mother has changed her viewpoint and is assisting her in healing past traumas.
