The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended and arrested Samha Inuwa, a well-known actress in Kannywood, Northern Nigeria, for allegedly abusing the Naira.
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, agents from the EFCC’s Kano Zonal Directorate arrested Inuwa.
The actress was arrested after a social media video went viral showing her wiping mucus from her nose with Naira notes.
The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development in a statement, saying the video led the Commission to move quickly.
Oyewale claims that when the video went viral, EFCC agents located the actress and detained her for interrogation on the purported currency mutilation.
He revealed that while investigations are ongoing, Inuwa is being held in the Commission’s facilities.
After the investigation was over, Oyewale said the actress would face charges in court.

In October 2025, popular Nigerian artist Oladips accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of stealing ₦10 million from him.
The rapper revealed this almost a year after the EFCC arrested him during a midnight raid on his property.
In November 2024, Oladips and a few of his neighbors were arrested on suspicion of fraud.
He was held for five days before being released.
In his most recent interview on the Trending podcast, Oladips talked about his experience with the EFCC and said that nothing was discovered about him during their investigations.
While revealing that the EFCC collected N10 million from him before his release, he lamented that “Nigeria just happened to me”.
“It’s just one smelling place like that. They just packed us there like sardines and they gave us nonsense food. Funny enough it was Zlatan that was sending me food. Zlatan is not even a friend, that’s my blood.
“Who is my father now? At the end of the day, who is my father? It’s just me and my truth. It’s not something I will want to. I don’t just know how the system works. I for dey their page now if to say I dey do Yahoo. They didn’t find anything on me. If they are watching this, they know that I’m saying the truth.
“They collected money from me before they released me. They didn’t find anything on me. So, what was the money for? What was all that stress and suffering for? It’s just Nigeria. Nigeria just happened to me,” he said.
