Nigerian event expert Funke Bucknor-Obruthe has denied publicly dragging Davido for failing to pay a $50,000 wedding-planning cost.

Zapphaire Events’ CEO is Bucknor-Obruthe. The company handled the logistics of Davido and Chioma’s white wedding in Miami, Florida, in August 2025, following their traditional wedding in June 2024.

In recent days, reports of Bucknor-Obruthe calling out Davido for unpaid services for planning the wedding began circulating online.

The rumors included alleged quotes from the event planner threatening legal action if the balance for her service was not paid within three days.

Reacting to the reports in her Instagram story, Bucknor-Obruthe dismissed the circulating reports as “totally false and misleading”, adding that the quotes did not originate from her official Instagram account.

In the midst of the ongoing paternity dispute with his purported baby mother, Ayo Labinjoh, Davido has expressed gratitude to his father, Adedeji Adeleke, for standing up for him.

In a series of posts on X, Davido denied ever seeing the woman but claimed that Aanu Adeleke is not his daughter based on five previous DNA tests.

Ayo Labinjoh responded by labelling the DNA test as fraudulent and insisting that the singer is her daughter’s father.

Defending his son amid the controversy, Adedeji Adeleke, during a press conference on Wednesday, disclosed that the child’s paternity test was conducted on both the singer and his cousin, singer B-Red.

Reacting to the development in a post on his Instagram page on Thursday, Davido thanked his father for the public support

Sharing a picture of them together, the singer wrote, “Thank you, my loving Father.”
