Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has asserted that five governors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform are covertly backing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a recent video posted to his social media accounts, Fayose claimed that the governors had pledged to provide financial support for the NDC’s election campaign.
He claims that because the governors are APC members, they would not openly support the NDC or make statements on its behalf.
“We now have five APC governors supporting the NDC in this election. They are not going to come out to campaign for us. They are not going to say anything in public that will favour us, but underneath, they promised us to sponsor this election, and their request is very simple.
“The request is, they don’t want Wike to win FCT for APC; they don’t want Wike to win Rivers State for APC, I said to them in the meeting, Wike is not popular here in Abuja; APC is not popular here in Abuja.'”

“APC is not popular in Rivers; their game plan is to carry our ballot, their game plan is to announce the result, and they said yes, they know and what they want is they don’t want to be able to write those results.
“So they are offering all our polling agents in Rivers and FCT two hundred thousand per polling unit; if you can stand together against rigging, they are willing to give you two hundred thousand naira each.
“They don’t want their names to be in public because they are members of the APC.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress’s (NDC) new logo has been posted on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) official website.
Additionally, the commission revised the party’s leadership on its website, designating Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as National Secretary and Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe as National Chairman of the NDC.
The National Financial Secretary is Mainasara Abubakar Sani, while Mr. John Odey is also mentioned as the National Treasurer in the most recent update. In the same vein, Reuben Egwuaba is identified as the National Legal Advisor for the party.
The NDC’s party logo on its platform is recognised in accordance with a court ruling, as indicated by the commission’s designation of the five leadership posts as having been modified “by court order.”
