Peter Obi, the Nigerian Democratic Congress’s (NDC) 2027 presidential contender, has responded to a claim made on FBI records by Reno Omokri, the country’s ambassador-designate to Mexico and former presidential spokesman.
In an appearance with the City Boy Movement Podcast last week, Omokri asserted that all of the 2027 presidential contenders have records with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
All of the contenders, including Peter Obi, have records with the FBI, although they might not be criminal records, according to the former presidential media assistant.
In response to the accusation, Obi stated in an interview in Washington, DC, USA, that he is unaware of any FBI files connected to him.
The former governor of Anambra State requested the investigative body to make any of his records available to the public, arguing that anyone aspiring to hold public office must submit to scrutiny.

Reno Omokri, the Nigerian ambassador-designate to Mexico, revealed that documents from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) dispelled rumours that President Bola Tinubu is ninety years old.
According to Omokri, the FBI submitted a letter to the Nigerian government via the US Embassy in Lagos stating that Tinubu was born on March 29, 1952.
Remember when Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claimed to have proof that Tinubu is ninety years old? Atiku revealed that he would present the proof in court.
But in a conversation with Otega Ogra, Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital and New Media, yesterday on the City Boy Movement’s media one-on-one podcast, Omokri rejected Atiku’s assertion
