Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu will not feature at this year’s tournament after a fresh injury setback forced her withdrawal from the final Grand Slam of the season.

Raducanu had recently given fans reason for optimism after returning to light training during her rehabilitation. But further assessments confirmed the injury had not healed sufficiently, leaving her with no choice but to continue her recovery instead of risking a premature comeback.
The 23-year-old made tennis history in 2021 when she became the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam singles title, lifting the US Open trophy without dropping a set. Since then, her career has been repeatedly disrupted by injuries and illness, including surgeries on both wrists and an ankle in 2023, as well as multiple withdrawals this season.
The latest setback is another frustrating chapter for Raducanu, who had shown encouraging signs earlier this year with a run to the Queen’s Club final after reuniting with coach Andrew Richardson. Her absence will be felt at Flushing Meadows, where she produced one of the most memorable title runs in modern tennis.
