Taiwo Awoniyi has graduated from the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Business School, an institution established to help current and former players develop skills for careers within and beyond football.
The Nigerian international graduated with Merit in the Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship, a programme focused on the strategic, administrative and leadership aspects of the modern game.
Sharing the achievement, Awoniyi described it as another proud moment away from the pitch and thanked his fellow footballers, lecturers and family members who supported him throughout the journey.

The PFA Business School was established by the Professional Footballers’ Association to help its members acquire new skills, pursue education and prepare for the next stage of their careers.
Its Global Football Sport Directorship programme covers areas including football governance, finance, sporting strategy, recruitment, scouting, football analytics, club operations and leadership. The course is delivered part-time over two academic years, allowing professional players to combine their studies with their football commitments.
Awoniyi is not the only established footballer to pursue further education through the PFA Business School. The school’s official website lists players including Jordan Henderson, Ben Davies, Yoane Wissa, Tyrone Mings and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall among its students, reflecting the growing interest among footballers in developing careers beyond playing.
For Awoniyi, the qualification provides another layer to his development as he continues his professional career, while giving him additional knowledge that could prove useful within football administration and sporting leadership in the future.
