The renowned Nigerian artist Innocent Idibia, aka 2Baba, has stated that “African Queen” was the song that ignited his career and that it is also one of his favourite songs.
Despite the song’s enormous advantages, he claimed it has been a hardship.
2Baba spoke in a recent episode of the Entertainment & Lifestyle show.
“African Queen has been a very huge blessing, and e come turn to problem join for me. But I am grateful for everything,” he said.
African Queen, which was released in 2004, propelled 2Baba to international stardom as he became the first African artist to win the BET, MTV Europe and MOBO awards.
However, there have been controversies about the authorship of the song following 2Face’s former band mate, Blackface’s repeated claims that 2Face stole the song from him.
2Baba in a previous interview admitted that ‘African Queen’ was originally a collaboration with his former bandmates, but denied stealing the song.
The song has remained a subject of controversy for over two decades. A fresh controversy began after Billboard named the song the “greatest Afrobeats song of all time” in August 2025.

Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North has stated that Regina Daniels has to attend rehabilitation to address drug misuse and protect her health.

In an interview with reporters on Sunday, Nwoko said this, emphasising that the choice was essential for the 25-year-old actress to be in the proper frame of mind to raise their two kids.
The congressman claims that several concerning toxicology findings showing elevated levels of dangerous chemicals in Daniels’ system prompted him to take this position.
He added that his wife’s normally composed demeanor had changed in the last several months as she started acting violently and destructively and experiencing frequent medical emergencies.
“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children.
“We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves, so I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother.
“Many people have died of drug overdose, and if anything happens to her now, what will I tell her children tomorrow,” he asked.
