Folarin Falana, aka “Falz”, claims he has never expressed support for any political party, including Peter Obi, the presidential candidate, or the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Falana made this claim during an appearance with Arise Television’s “Prime Time” show.
He urged Nigerians to participate in the national elections the next year, especially the younger generation.
“Just a point of correction. I never openly supported Peter Obi or any politician or party in 2023 or at any point. I have actively encouraged people to go out and vote.
“I clamour for a free and fair democratic process. I haven’t stuck out my neck for any politician for obvious reasons.
“I think it’s very important to strengthen our democracy in this country. We’ve been going in cycles, and it just seems like almost the same crop of people we keep on reshuffling, and at the end of the day, it’s tough to even sit anywhere and vouch for a Nigerian politician in 2026,” he said.

Falz claims that his fight against the present administration has cost him some big deals.
The musician revealed that a group protested about his crusade against Nigerian politics when they approached his management about collaborating.
However, he claimed that anyone who finds his campaign against poor governance problematic is contributing to the issues Nigerians face.
He asserted that he had never brought up the names of any politicians or political parties.
“The way I look at that is it was never meant for me. If you feel in any way attacked or feel like what I’m doing is in any way directed at you. Then maybe I don’t even want to be there, maybe I shouldn’t even be there, you know, but what I’m saying is the truth.
“I’m not single handedly picking at anyone to antagonize. What I’m speaking to is the practice and not even really the people in particular. I’ve mentioned no name, I’ve mentioned no political part or whatever. So, in fact what they do say when speaking with my manager was something political but this is absolutely zero affiliation. I’m just talking about what is going on. If you have a problem with them, then you are the problem”, the singer said.
