Ex-BBNaija star Roseline Omokhoa Afije, aka Liquorose, has disclosed that her first attempts were cut short before she appeared on the reality show in 2021.
She revealed that in 2020, she was on the verge of taking part in the event and was waiting backstage to be introduced during the launch, but she was still passed over by the organisers.
According to Liquorose, the experience left her feeling despondent and nearly gave up on her goal of appearing on the show.

“In 2020, I was backstage at the BBNaija opening show. I was dressed up and make up done, but I was not called. That really hurt me,” she said in a recent podcast interview with VJ Adams.
Liquorose and another potential housemate, Jaypaul were barred from posting in the 2020 edition of the reality show after testing positive to COVID-19.

However, the duo made it to the show after auditioning the following year.
Liquorose revealed that she almost refused to audition the next year, but was convinced by a friend to audition again.
“That experience was messing with me. So, the following year, I didn’t even want to audition but my friend convinced me to try. I just auditioned and forgot about it. I just went to check my spam one day and I discovered that I have been selected. It was crazy,” she recalled.
Liquorose emerged as the runner-up of Big Brother Naija Season 5 in 2021 after losing the grand prize to Whitemoney.
Mercy Eke, a Nigerian reality TV personality, has stated that she wouldn’t mind having children out of wedlock.
The Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner stated in a recent podcast interview that even though she is not looking forward to having a child, she would keep it if she got pregnant before getting married.
“I won’t go the extra miles to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it just happens, I would leave it and I would have my baby. I want three kids; two girls and one boy or three girls. I love female children.
“Even if don’t get married, I would still have kids. What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them.
“The women [single mothers] that are shattering glasses, men are begging them for marriage. I can get married tomorrow if I want to. But what I want in a man, I have not seen it. It’s not like there is no suitor. There are plenty… So, even if I have a baby, I would still see a man,” she expressed.
