The news of Wunmi, the late musician Mohbad’s wife, went viral on social media, prompting a response from many Nigerians.
Online rumors claim that Wunmi just gave birth to a new child with a different partner.
A month after Mohbad’s family forbade Wunmi from using their last name, the rumors surfaced.
Since Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and his body is still in the mortuary, the widely circulated rumour that originated on X caused debate on social media and raised concerns among online users.

Calls for a DNA test on her late singer’s kid Liam, who was five months old at the time of Mohbad’s death, have been rekindled by this discovery.
Following the controversial circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, and allegation of infidelity against Wunmi, the deceased’s father, Joseph Aloba, requested a DNA to determine Liam’s paternity.

Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was listed as the respondent in the suit.
When the matter came up for hearing, Joseph Aloba’s counsel, Augustine Adegbemi, moved the motion, while Omowumi’s lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu, raised no opposition.
Magistrate Sonuga subsequently ordered that two DNA tests be conducted on Mohbad’s son
One will be done in Nigeria and the other outside the country. Both tests will be carried out in accredited and recognised hospitals, with both parties or their representatives present when the samples are collected.
