Being the first couple in Nigeria to conduct a wedding ceremony on a train, Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and event coordinator Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe created history by getting married on a moving train between Lagos and Ibadan.
With floral arrangements, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and officiating clergy who led the ceremony while the train was moving, the couple turned the train’s carriages into a gorgeous wedding location.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) praised the pair for their originality and inventiveness in a post commemorating the historic occasion.

“From lovebirds to locomotives, we’re keeping things on track. History made, the first-ever wedding on a moving train in Nigeria. Proof that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination.”
Since then, the event has gone viral on social media, garnering praise from Nigerians who praised the couple’s uniqueness and spirit of adventure.
Close family members, acquaintances, and coworkers from the industry attended the little party.
