Veteran Nigerian artist Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage name as 2Baba, has opened up as to why he was arrested in the UK.
The musician revealed the information while candidly discussing the lessons he has learnt from challenging times in his life and career on the Mic On podcast.
The father of six claims that there are a number of circumstances that he wishes he had handled better, particularly those that were influenced by stress and emotional strain.
A contentious incident in London involving a dispute with his wife, Natasha Osawaru, that resulted in his detention in October 2025 was also brought up by 2Baba during his appearance on the program.
The singer took responsibility for the episode, admitting that his reaction at the time was fueled by anger.
“I was angry that day. It was an unfortunate incident,” the singer said.

He explained that managing personal challenges alongside public life has not always been easy, adding that some experiences have pushed him to reassess how he handles conflict and pressure.

“There are so many things I wish I could rewind and do better. As a human being, there are times when you are overwhelmed or don’t make the best decisions. My thick-skin is weaker now,” he said.
In December 2025, 2Baba came clean and spoke up about having more children.
During the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends performance in Benin City, 2Baba—who is well known for having children with several baby mamas outside of his marriage—made the admission.
The musician, who claimed to have a confession to correct the record, disclosed that he had ceased impregnating women in a speech before his performance.
“But see, I get confession. Dey make this confession everywhere I go now to set the record straight. I don stop to dey do that kind of thing, don stop to dey give belle anyhow. I swear, ask anybody now, they will tell you that I’m innocent.”
2Baba’s first baby mama is Sumbo Adeoye, with whom he shared two sons, Zion and Nino. Their relationship ended around 2009 following revelations of his relationships with other women.
Also, Pero Adeniyi, his second baby mama, had three kids with him between 2006 and 2012.
He also shared two daughters with his publicly recognised wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, from 2012 until their divorce in 2025.
Lastly, 2Baba recently welcomed a new baby with his new partner, Natasha Osawaru, with whom he has a controversial marriage.
