The Yobe State administration has greenlit the development of four brand-new commercial centers designed to expand local trading infrastructure, accelerate business growth, and invigorate commerce throughout the region.
Under this latest state initiative, the upcoming trading facilities will be strategically positioned across Bumsa in Gulani Local Government Area, Sabon Garin Nangere within Nangere Local Government Area, Girgir located in Jakusko Local Government Area, and Ngelzarma inside Fune Local Government Area.
Official documentation detailing the project clearance was released through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government. According to an administrative brief signed by Ibrahim Baba Saleh, who serves as Media Coordinator and Liaison for the office, the upcoming ventures are built to supply contemporary trading amenities, encourage economic expansion in both rural and city districts, draw investment capital, and enhance daily living standards for merchants and nearby populations.
This fresh authorization significantly extends the commercial infrastructure drive championed by Governor Mai Mala Buni. The program serves as a foundational pillar for accelerating economic progress, backing micro, medium, and small enterprises, and driving post-conflict rehabilitation via heightened commercial interaction.
Ever since taking the oath of office in 2019, the current state leadership has successfully finalized ultra-modern trading hubs in Damaturu, Potiskum, Nguru, and Gashua, alongside contemporary market spaces established in Ngalda and Yunusari. Furthermore, the sites in Potiskum, Ngalda, and Yunusari received supplementary amenities to boost transportation access and streamline commercial efficiency.
Meanwhile, physical construction work on the Geidam Ultra-Modern Market has advanced past the ninety percent completion milestone, while active development continues steadily at the Machina, Buni Yadi, and Yusufari project sites.
Factoring in these four freshly sanctioned commercial sites, the administration brings its total portfolio of initiated modern and ultra-modern markets across Yobe State to fourteen, effectively pushing contemporary trade architecture deeper into grassroots communities.
State authorities emphasized that this continuous rollout of commercial facilities is projected to fortify regional economies, generate fresh employment avenues, boost internal revenue generation, invite private capital, and offer merchants secure, structured, and highly productive spaces to operate.
Additionally, the strategic push ties directly into the regional economic diversification blueprint, which seeks to decentralize business activity away from major metropolitan centers and provide rural producers and petty traders with direct, unhindered market access.
