Famous Nigerian singer Lekan Osifeso Junior, aka Lojay, has disclosed that he initially saw being a pop sensation as a chance to womanise.
The Monalisa crooner stated on an episode of the I Said What I Said podcast that he changed his mind after realising that he needed a certain degree of sexual discipline to have a long and successful career.
“There is a lot of temptation in the music industry. You will see a lot of things, but you are not meant to touch. I used to think I would frolic with a lot of ladies because there are babes everywhere. But when you have about 100 girls talking to you, that is when you need to cultivate discipline.
“I realised if you want a long career like the Big 3, you have to stay away from too many girls,” he said.
Lojay also disclosed that one of his cultural shocks in the music business was that, after he entered the mainstream, the lives of other musicians that had previously drawn him in were no longer as alluring.

He asserted that the music industry is far more disciplined than many people think, emphasising that musicians are careful with their words and deeds because they have reputations to uphold.
However, he acknowledged that his mentality also made him more disciplined than the majority of his coworkers when it came to his expensive lifestyle and womanising.
In August, Singer Lojay opened up about his relationship with Folashade Adeleke, calling her his ‘best friend’ and denying romantic rumours.
Folashade, daughter of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and cousin to Afrobeats star Davido has been in public speculation about a possible romance with Lojay.
Lojay emphasised that their bond is strictly platonic, describing Folashade as his “best friend,” revealing that they “just clicked” from the moment they met through Davido’s 30BG crew.
Lojay also shared that he’s not ready for a romantic relationship, focusing instead on healing from past experiences and personal growth.
He said: “Fola is literally my best friend. From the very first day I met her, I just knew she was different.
“She’s the only woman in the 30BG crew, and she holds it down for everybody. Since then, we just clicked and have been good friends ever since.
“Unfortunately for me, I’m not ready for a relationship yet. Some people assume that means you’re messing around, but that’s not my reality. Sometimes, people genuinely need time to heal from past experiences, and that’s where I am right now.”
