Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has been released from prison after spending a week there.
On Monday, January 19, 2026, the singer was released after meeting his bond terms.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Portable said that “they lied against me.” I’m not at fault.
When Portable’s baby mum, Ashabi Simple, and her family accused him of violence and theft, he was put on remand in prison a week ago.
The drama started on New Year’s eve when a video capturing Ashabi and the singer in a heated exchange surfaced online, with Ashabi holding his clothes and saying “Pami baby” (Baby you have to kill me).
Following the incident, Ashabi and her siblings arrested Portable for assault and stealing their car.
He was, however, arraigned last week Monday on a nine-count criminal charge, including theft, causing harm, assault, and resisting arrest before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State.
The presiding judge remanded the singer and adjourned a fresh bail hearing till Monday, January 19, 2026.

Portable has accused his father, Mr Olalomi, of stealing his clothing and other personal items.
The Zazu crooner stated in a video broadcast that his father has been pursuing his belongings and properties, drawing comparisons to the father of the late musician Mohbad.
According to Portable, his life was more secure when his father wasn’t around.
He clarified that when he was learning tailoring, his father did not support his education or cover the cost of his skill development.
Expressing his frustration, Portable said, “My dad’s presence in my life is doing me more harm than good. My life was better and more stable when he wasn’t in the picture.
“When I was younger, he didn’t take care of me. He did not send me to school. He did not pay for my tailoring apprenticeship fee.
“His presence is affecting my life negatively. My dad is like Mohbad’s dad. He has taken all my shoes and clothes and he is just after my properties.”
