A suspected bandit known on TikTok as Sule Yellow has apparently been taken into custody by the Nigerian Army.
Sule Yellow reportedly collected a ransom from the relatives of a kidnapped victim before being apprehended by troops on his way back to a forest hiding place.
The suspect gained notoriety on social media after reportedly flaunting substantial sums of money on TikTok. The money shown in several of his recordings may have been from ransom payments, according to authorities.
According to reports, Sule Yellow amassed a sizable fan base on the platform by regularly posting videos of large sums of money.
Security services had not issued an official statement on the arrest at the time this article was filed.
Online, a video of the purported arrest has been making the rounds.

In January 2026, in Katsina State’s Dandume Local Government Area, gunmen who are thought to be bandits, killed nine persons and wounded thirteen more.
The shooters assaulted the communities of Kauran Fawa and Unguwar Jika, as well as other nearby villages, late on Thursday night.
The majority of people had gone to bed when the robbers invaded their communities on foot, according to a resident who wished to remain anonymous.
“They left their motorcycles in the bush and trekked to the village, where they began to shoot sporadically to announce their presence. During their operation, nine people were killed and 13 others sustained various degrees of injuries. We have taken them to hospital for treatment.
“The bandits also abducted 10 people, but later released them one by one, mostly due to pressure from local security operatives. Right now, only one person is left with the bandits, as nine of the victims have returned home.”
