Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has apologised in public to Mercy Johnson Okojie, a fellow actress.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Angela Okorie was initially taken into custody at her Lagos home by agents from the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja, on charges of cyberbullying Mercy Johnson.
An Abuja court remanded Angela Okorie to Suleja Prison on Wednesday, January 29.
But on Friday, January 30, she was granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Judge Emeka Nwite set bail at N5 million with one surety in the same amount after considering the bail application submitted by attorney Earnest Nwoye.
Angela Okorie sent Mercy Johnson a sweet video message that was posted online.

She said: “This video is specifically for Mercy and her kids and her family. I am not perfect, and I want to apologize. If it’s my words, anything I’ve written, anytime your name pops up on social media, I am deeply sorry.”

“You are not a witch. You are not what people are calling you. I just want to make peace. Our kids may meet and become friends, and as mothers, we cannot stop that.
“I do not condone bullying, and I apologize for anything I might have done or said against you, knowingly or unknowingly. This is a new beginning. You are my friend, and I will never listen to gossip about you again. I love you, and I pray that God blesses and lifts you higher.”

Journalist and founder of BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, disclosed on Wednesday. While explaining that Angela spent the night at Yaba, Panti police station, before being transported to Abuja very early on Wednesday, Oloketuyi wrote on his Instagram page: “Angela Okorie was arrested yesterday at her Lagos residence by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja.
