Wolves were forced to cancel training yesterday after Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare reportedly refused to leave the pitch when he was told not to train with the first team.
According to Wolves journalist Nathan Judah, security had to intervene before normalcy was restored.
Judah reported that the decision came from head coach Cesar Peixoto, who appears unwilling to tolerate what he sees as poor discipline or “player power.” As a result, Arokodare will not be part of the Wolves squad travelling to face Maidenhead United tomorrow night.
He wrote:
“Understand Wolves training was cancelled yesterday following Tolu Arokodare’s refusal to leave the pitch when asked not to train with squad.
Cesar Peixoto seemingly not tolerating ‘player power’ & poor discipline levels.
Extra security enforced today at Compton Park to make sure he was not at training ground.
Arokodare will not be part of the squad travelling to Maidenhead United tomorrow night.”
It is understood that Wolves are no longer planning with Arokodare and are working to facilitate his departure from the club.
The Nigerian international has also previously been linked with disciplinary issues, including a reported dressing-room altercation with teammate Mateus Mane earlier this year.
Arokodare joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Belgian side Genk on September 1, 2025, in a deal worth around £23.4 million, signing a four-year contract with the option of a further year.
Moreso, the Super Eagles talisman has struggled to replicate the form that convinced Wolves to sign him. Since arriving at Molineux, he has scored six goals in 32 appearances across all competitions, including three in the Premier League.
