The Kano State Police Command has arrested two key suspects in connection with the vicious attack on Nigerian musician Keshinro Ololade, aka Lil Kesh.
After weeks of intelligence-led investigations, the suspects—Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, and Mathew Adewole, 25—were located and captured at Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, on September 11, 2025.
Adewole acknowledged breaking into Lil Kesh’s Lagos home at Bera Estate, Chevron, on August 19, 2025, leaving the rapper with a severe neck cut in what police said was an attempted murder, according to SP Abdullahi Haruna, the spokesperson for the Command.
According to investigations, Adewole coerced Lil Kesh into moving ₦2.12 million from his bank account to Muhammad’s account before he left the site of the assault.
“The Kano State Police Command has achieved a significant breakthrough in a recent case of armed robbery and attempted murder, thanks to its robust intelligence and community collaboration,” he said.
He went on to say that the arrest was made in accordance with Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s order to bolster intelligence efforts and curtail violent crime.

Since then, the accused have been moved to the Lagos State Police Command for additional examination and legal action.
In the meantime, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the commissioner of police for Kano State, thanked the public for their cooperation and commended the officers for their prompt response.

“We might be at the same event, and he will be talking, laughing, and even touching other ladies while still looking at me like, ‘Don’t worry, it’s nothing I am just doing it!’ It was happening right in front of me and I couldn’t say anything. It’s a disrespect”, she said.
She described her unpleasant experience without naming the celebrity, which many internet users thought was Wizkid.
