Popular Nigerian social critic Martins Vincent Otse, aka VDM, has suggested what he described as the “only solution” to the country’s security challenges, particularly terrorism.
In a video clip posted on his official Facebook page on Monday, VDM blamed the worsening crisis on the lack of education, especially in the northern part of the country.
He claimed that the majority of those perpetrating terrorism in Nigeria are from the North, arguing that education would take young men out of the forests and away from criminal activities.
He said,
“The only solution to terrorism is to educate the Northerners. Any Nigerian leader that will take four years out of his eight years to educate the North, force education on them have solved terrorism problems.
“Let them have the knowledge because knowledge is power. Until then, Nigeria may suffer more in years to come. They don’t go to school in the North, rather they study religion. That is why the fewer people that are educated keep using the uneducated as their weapons.

“If I want to start terrorism today, I will go to Madugri, Zamfara or somewhere. If you go to the North, you see a lot of young people in the streets begging. You can easily pack ten thousand of them and bring them to Abuja”.
Reality TV personality and actress Roseline Afije, popularly known as Liquorose, has disclosed the reason behind her unique stage name, admitting it was inspired by her love for spirits and her true name.
Liquorose stated that she selected the moniker in December 2012 and that it has now become a household name in an interview with VJ Adams.
“I picked Liquorose on December 31st, 2012. I like liquor, and my name is Rosaline as well. I am a very shy person too. My mum says in her language ‘Alcohol is never shy’”, she said.
She added that she values her family life and misses home, despite her busy schedule.
“I don’t go home often; it’s bad. I miss my home, I miss my bed. We are very close in my family, and we know how to make each other laugh. We have stories we tell each other. I miss that. The last time I was in the hood was last year because I do this charity stuff every December. That was the last time, and it’s bad”, she said.
