Bola Tinubu, a presidential hopeful for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has encouraged President Muhamadu Buhari to give him power in 2023.
Tinubu based his argument on the fact that he previously backed President Buhari’s presidential ambition.
He recalls campaigning across Nigeria with Buhari in 2015.
Buhari, according to the APC National leader, should not only leave office in 2023 but also pass over control to him.
He made the remarks during separate meetings to the Ooni of Ife and Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, both in Osun State, to solicit their support.
“We went around the country,” Tinubu says.
”I am ready to take over if monarchs in the region unite and ask for it if we politely ask for the president and ask them to transfer it up to us.”
“I am qualified and capable of leading the country to glory.
Tinubu recently stated that he intends to succeed Buhari as the president of Nigeria.
