Tyson Fury’s manager Spencer Brown has reassured boxing fans that the blockbuster and long-awaited fight between Tyson Fury, his client, and Anthony Joshua is 100% happening, with negotiations still ongoing between both camps despite Fury saying days ago that the fight was off and that he had turned his attention to Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight has experienced back-and-forth negotiations in recent months amid an apparent disagreement over the location for the event, with Joshua’s team having remained insistent that it must take place in the UK.
In his interview with Sky Sports, Spencer said:
“It’s inching closer and it looks like it could be the British Boxing Bonanza that we all hoped for taking place in Britain,
“Three venues are still under consideration with Cardiff and Wembley still in the running.
“It’s looking good, Tyson has been onboard with fighting AJ since the start and he will fight him anywhere.
“November and December are both in play but we like December as an option, everyone would be winding up work for the holidays, it would be the best Christmas party in the world.”
“I’m 100 per cent that the fight will happen.”
Both fighters also have a history of attracting huge crowds for major events at Wembley Stadium. According to Queensberry Promotions, Fury’s 2022 clash with Dillian Whyte at Wembley attracted 94,000 spectators, while Joshua’s 2024 fight against Daniel Dubois drew a record 96,000 fans at the venue.
Those figures underline the potential scale of a Fury-Joshua showdown in Britain, with Cardiff and Wembley among the venues reportedly still being considered.
