Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been fined £8,000 by the English Football Association (FA) for kicking an electronic substitution board following Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at Anfield last month, during Liverpool’s second game of the season.
The incident happened after a delay in preparing the substitution board for Forest’s planned triple substitution while the game was 1-1. Forest quickly restarted play, with Neco Williams charging into Liverpool’s box before being brought down by Alisson for a penalty.
Prior to that, Alisson had been shown a yellow card for bringing down a Forest player in his area, with the visitors awarded a penalty in the 69th minute. Forest converted the penalty to take a 2-1 lead, although Liverpool later fought back to secure a 2-2 draw through Victor Muñoz’s 82nd-minute strike.
After the game, Alisson walked past the substitution board placed near the tunnel and kicked it, damaging the equipment.
The FA charged the goalkeeper with improper behaviour over the incident. Alisson accepted the charge and received the standard £8,000 penalty, according to Sky sports.
